Milestone: Steam Demo!

My demo is now on steam and can be played here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2657850/Cozy_Space_Survivors/

Time Breakdown

I'm using the ProcrastiTracker to capture the invested time. Here is a rough breakdown of how I spend my time so far on the project.

Godot..............................320:16:00
Blender.............................26:45:00
Piskel..............................28:18:00
Firefox (Tutorials)..................5:24:00
Search sounds (Soundly/Zapsplat).....2:35:00
Mix/Export Sounds(Audacity)..........0:53:00
Translation (Modern CSV).............4:20:00
Playing/Testing.....................47:43:00
============================================
Total 436:14:00

Notes:

  • I use Blender to render Pixel Art. Example 1. Example 2. Example 3.
  • Piskel is a free Pixel Art Editor
  • Not included: Preparing Store Assets & Itch/Steam Page, Writing Dev Log, Creating Assets for Social Media, posting on Social Media
  • Somehow the tracking is weird for the sound-research. I spend several evenings gathering sounds and... the 2.5h are not accurate.

Let's Play Learning

There's a mini let's play, and the creator had the issue, that my music was marked as copyright. Weird, because I intentionally used a track which is royalty free! So it's good to check beforehand by uploading a video with music on a private YouTube channel, to double-check if everything goes well. Because if not, creators may not be able to get money from YouTube with your video!
